ProfileGLEIF is a Swiss not-for-profit foundation, established in June 2014 on a Financial Stability Board resolution backed by the G20, to run the Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) system worldwide. It publishes the Global LEI Index, a free public register mapping each LEI's 20-character code to verified "who is who" and "who owns whom" reference data for legal entities under ISO 17442. The hub's 33-34 `gleif.org` citations are individual LEI records (`search.gleif.org/#/record/...`) or API lookups used to give producer/refiner rows a verifiable legal identifier — an LEI record establishes that an entity is registered in the Global LEI System with a given legal name and jurisdiction; it explicitly does NOT assess creditworthiness, regulatory compliance, or beneficial ownership beyond the direct-parent/ultimate-parent relationships some registrants choose to disclose. The entity_type chosen here (civil-society) is the seat's call; industry-association is the plausible alternative and both types admit the same predicate ranges.Single source
