The Responsible Minerals Assurance Process is the independent third-party assessment programme of the Responsible Minerals Initiative, an initiative of the Responsible Business Alliance, covering smelters, refiners and recyclers. Its gold standard is one of the RMAP standards the European Commission recognised by Implementing Decision (EU) 2025/2071 of 16 October 2025 as fully aligned with the EU Conflict Minerals Regulation, the first scheme to be so recognised. The OECD's 2018 pilot alignment assessment counted the RMI among four industry programmes running Step 4 audits at the smelter or refiner control point.
