The Responsible Gold Mining Principles are a framework published by the World Gold Council setting out what constitutes responsible gold mining for consumers, investors and the downstream supply chain, developed with gold mining companies through two phases of external consultation. Companies implementing them must obtain external assurance from an independent third-party provider at site and corporate level and publicly disclose their conformance. The Consolidated Mining Standard Initiative is a separate joint effort of The Copper Mark, ICMM, the Mining Association of Canada and the World Gold Council to merge four standards, the RGMPs among them, into a single global mining standard.
