The Ghana Gold Board, known as GoldBod, is the Ghanaian state body established under the Ghana Gold Board Act 2025 (Act 1140), assented to on 2 April 2025. It holds the exclusive right to buy, sell, weigh, grade, assay, value and export gold and other precious minerals in Ghana, and was created to regulate the artisanal and small-scale sector, combat gold smuggling and support small-scale miners. Its original business model as sole buyer and exporter of ASM gold has in practice been funded through the Bank of Ghana, for which it has been collecting funds and conducting purchases.
