The LBMA Responsible Sourcing Programme is administered by the London Bullion Market Association and applies to every refiner on its Good Delivery Lists for gold and silver. Refiners selling metal into the London market must undergo an independent third-party audit every twelve months against the Responsible Gold Guidance, currently Version 9, which follows the five-step due diligence framework of the OECD Due Diligence Guidance; failure to comply results in removal from the Good Delivery Lists. The OECD's 2018 pilot alignment assessment counted the LBMA among four industry programmes running Step 4 audits at the smelter or refiner control point.
