South African gold processing, refining and secondary gold trading company, founded 1988 on its own account, operating SANAS-accredited laboratory facilities and complying with the Precious Metals Act 37 of 2005. Its stated inputs are mine by-products purchased from Harmony, Gold Fields, AngloGold and Sibanye, plus semi-pure dore bought from scrap metal dealers. Ownership as stated: Rappa Holdings 73.99%, Rappa Resources Empowerment Fund (a Broad-Based Socio-Economic Empowerment trust for employees) 26.01%. Named in the Swiss Precious Metals Transparency Platform's 2024 supplier map as a named party for recycled gold from South Africa, which its own description supports. It does NOT appear on the LBMA Good Delivery List for gold — the only South African entry on the current list is Rand Refinery (Pty) Ltd.
